Fun at the Alishan Food Carnival – 15th May 2010
Well for another year, the Alishan Food Carnival is over… and it was a lovely day for all!
Luckily the weather was fantastic on the day and we could all enjoy the food under the shade of the trees on the new exanded deck area of the Alishan Cafe, overlooking the Koma river.
The staff put on a great display of foods, using ingredients available in the Tengu shop, located next to the cafe, and also available online at the new improved Tengu Online Store. (http://store.alishan.jp).
Among the delicious treats, were vegan onigiri, Thai curry, noodles, wood-oven pizza, whole wheat samosas, konnyaku-yaki (tacoyaki style) tirami-su, vegan tomato bagels, vegetable soups, nori maki, indian rolls just to name a few.
there was also tasting booths where people could try all sorts of spread, jams and snacks while looking aorund the Alishan Organic centre, as well as live music and workshops to join in.
So, all in all a great day for all those who made their way out to Saitama to be part of the action. If you were there, we hope you had a great time and had a chance to eat some of the delicious and healthy foods available.
