Alishan Cooking Classes in Azabu
This was an event held by Runway「おうちでカフェのレシピを楽しもう」where our two sweets experts went to share some of our popular recipes. Here’s Yawen’s report after the first class.
I was nervous when we first arrived at Runway’s studio. It’s build in a basement and is a very clean and simple design with easy to use equipment. We were to hold a 2 hr class starting at 7pm. The first sweet we made was oatmeal cookies so we gave out the recipe and explained how we were going to make them. For this class we decided to make them with orange peel. Next Noguchi-san gave a demonstration on how to make them. She explained the benefits of a macrobiotic diet and why it’s better to use organic ingredients whilst she was preparing the cookies. As there was a little time left over at the end we also showed how to make the boss Jack’s favorite breakfast, oatmeal, using oats, rice and soy blend and maple syrup. To finish off the evening we gave everyone a sample of our chocolate brownie with soy whip cream on top. The customers all seemed to enjoy this very much. Runway also gave a great talk on the cafe and the products we use, highlighting how easy it is to make healthier sweets at home. We had a great time and can’t wait for our next class in August!
