Market Day 2011 report
We had blue skies and sunshine for our belated market day so it was well worth the wait. The booths were set up by 10am and by 10 past people were out with their shopping bags (staff included!). The vegetable booth proved immensely popular, particularly their unusual tomatoes. Not only did they have mouth-wateringly delicious looking red tomatoes but big yellow, small yellow, dusky red and even green striped varieties. There was fresh corn on the cob, doorstep sandwiches filled with all kinds of vegetables, lovely vegan bentos, a vegan ice cream machine – perfect for such a hot, sunny day, organic beer… and that was just the food. Hand crafted wood, jewelry, organic cotton clothes, hand made ocarinas, second hand books; I hadn’t a penny left by 4pm! The live music was great though sadly we didn’t manage to get many photos of this or the workshops. We did catch a bit of the kids dance though (and have the strained muscles to prove it)! We hope you’ll be able to come and join in the fun next year.
