Men – Eat your beans!
Actually we should all be making sure beans find their way into our diet. They’re low in calories and high in protein and fiber and can be cooked in a wide variety of ways. Soups, casseroles, burgers, dips, spreads, roasts…. you name it! Japan is great for soy and aduki beans but as each bean has a different nutritional profile the more variety you can get the better. Eden were quick to let us all know that their black beans and refried beans were selected by Men’s Health magazine as one of the best 125 foods for men, and came top of the canned bean and refried bean categories. There’s good reason for this too; The beans are of a very high quality needing little or no salt to flavour them. There is no oil added to either type – refried refers to the creamed style of the bean rather than the way it was made, and even better their cans don’t contain Bis-A (you can read more about this here).
