Homemade Tomato Sauce
This is so easy to make. All you’ll need is
First gently heat three tablespoons (or less if you prefer) olive oil and the crushed garlic in a pan – using a pan with a thick base will prevent the sauce from burning. Once the garlic is softened add the tomatoes and tomato puree. Stir briefly then add the sugar, salt and herbs. If you prefer a smoother sauce crush the tomatoes with a spoon or use a couple of cans of diced tomatoes instead. Leave the sauce to simmer for half an hour or so, stirring occasionally, until it has thickened. This tastes great on homemade pasta or pizza!
